ETHIOPIAN IDs- Please take a look at the below Resident ID card and DL. As you will notice, the surnames on both IDs do not match WoldeGiorgis and W/Giorgis on DL, but this can be accepted.
Here's why:
G/ and W/ are abbreviations of compound names beginning with the prefixes Gebre ("servant" in the Ge'ez) and Wolde ('my son' in the Ge'ez), respectively. Gebre and Wolde can be independent names or be prefixes of compound “Christian” names. In the latter case, when transliterated, they can be shortened to G/ W/.
Before declining an ID with a mismatched DOB, please know that Ethiopian calendar (https://htschool.hindustantimes.com/editorsdesk/knowledge-vine/youre-always-seven-years-behind-in-ethiopiathe ). So basically, Ethiopian calendar is composed of 13 months, 12 months of 30 days, and 1 month of 5 or 6 days depending if it's a leap year.
Please try to convert the Ethipian date to Gregorian date.
