Please be mindful that what may appear to be real can turn out to be fake. Likewise, what may seem fake can actually be real. Here are some past examples we have received to assist with your understanding and to highlight what you should look out for. As always, if you are unsure, please escalate the issue to Compliance for further verification.

Colombia Passport:

Question: Security feature is missing as per Prado: https://www.consilium.europa.eu/prado/en/COL-AO-04001/index.html

Answer: This is acceptable, when checking Prado, please be mindful of the passport issue date. In this case, the client's passport was issued in 2018, so we cannot compare this to a prado examples of passports issued in 2019 (since the security features will not be accurate). This should have been compared to the Passport issued in 2010. Please see below:

Indian Driver License

Q: It is missing an expiry date.

A: For Telangana State, the license to drive a Non-Transport Vehicle is valid for 20 years from the date of issue or until the holder attains the age of 50 years, whichever is earlier. After that, the Licence is renewed every 5 years.

UK Passport:

Q: This was tagged by sumsub as edited and the signature is missing. I have checked google and passports issued from 2023 onwards includes a signature.

A: The passport is genuine (sample layout below that is issued from 2020, UK). The signature is on the other side (i.e., page 2) and it not pre-printed. Passport with non-pre-printed signatures (i.e., ones that requires the owner to manually sign) is not required for our verification process.

Malaysian Resident Card (Kad Pengenalan Malaysia)

Q: Please check the legitimacy of this resident card. Samples from the internet shows this card should be 'red' in colour (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malaysian_identity_card), but the provided documents below are nearly 'orange'. Sumsub has also flagged this as Edited.

A: The ID is legit and has the exact same layout compared to other Kad Pengenalan Malaysia Pemastautin Tetap". With the 'orange' colour, this may be because of the high contrast scan.

FINECO Statement (POA)

Q: This document looks edited, the fonts are different.

A: The POA is legit and this has now been approved by Sumsub.
